Who are the First Tee — San Francisco Volunteers?
First Tee — San Francisco volunteers are positive role models that enjoy coaching and mentoring youth participants the First Tee Life Skills through the game of golf. Some volunteers have golf experience and others have none at all. First Tee — San Francisco welcomes a wide range of skills, interests, talents, and backgrounds; we’d love to learn more about yours!
What are the benefits of volunteering?
As a First Tee — San Francisco volunteer you will have the opportunity to work and learn in a fast paced youth development program. You will work directly with First Tee — San Francisco participants in a social and engaging experience.
Do I need to know how to play golf?
You don’t have to know anything about golf. You just need to be willing to become a role model to the participants.
What training is required to volunteer?
Since First Tee — San Francisco is a youth development program, a background check and a 2-hour SafeSport training is required before you can be scheduled to volunteer. For more information about our commitment to safety, click to read about our Volunteer SafeSport Prevention Policy.
Are all volunteer candidates accepted?
While First Tee — San Francisco works hard to place each and every applicant, it’s not always possible to find an assignment that is a fit for both the volunteer applicant and session schedules.
What days and hourly commitments are required from volunteers?
We ask volunteers to commit to the span of a session (session length depends on the season). Many shifts are available during the weekdays. Spring and Fall sessions shifts are available for our After-School program. For the Summer session, shifts are available for our Summer Camps.
